Fundraiser Friday
You may have seen that over the past 12 days we have had a Challenges Takeover on our Dig Deep social media channels. We have been celebrating what would have been our 2020 Climb Season with a virtual Raise to the Roof of Africa. We wanted to use this Fundraiser Friday to say thank-you to all of those who donated directly to the campaign; and to our incredible challenge fundraisers who have taken this time to continue their fundraising in anticipation of their climbs in 2021. You are all helping to unlock opportunity for Kenya’s poorest residents, county by county, by ensuring everyone has clean water, safe toilets, and good hygiene - forever. There have been some epic physical challenges over the past few weeks. Michael has run 62.26Km over six days, the distance that he will be covering on Kili; Nina climbed 640 steps every day for 45 days whilst Tom and Simeon also took on the task of walking from London to Brighton - a staggering 103km!
Despite being signed up to the Kilimanjaro challenge for less than a week, Nicole is already running 10km a day throughout September! Whilst Jake, Tom and Rory tackled the gruelling Welsh Three Peaks. And yes, you've not seen that wrong, Connor ran a marathon dressed as French Fries!
The Portsmouth team have once again pulled together and are running monthly hamper raffles with donated gifts and experiences gathered from simply approaching loads of places! Their September hamper looks amazing and they've already started sourcing bits and pieces for their October offering as well!
Elsewhere in the country, the baking bug is back with Tricia and Ellie holding afternoon teas in their gardens (all safely and at a distance). Hannah and Luke have both also been running raffles, where you can win an epic array of prizes! To round off, Anna celebrated her birthday with a Facebook Fundraiser. Meanwhile, Marc will be marking his 24th birthday by encouraging friends and family to set him challenges around the number 24!
